The Shires Rest offers a tranquil setting for you to enjoy a great cup of coffee and a meal. Enjoy the unique hobbit-like environment of the Kaimai Room or on a nice day, you can relax on the balcony, enjoying the most stunning views of rural New Zealand.
Established in 2003 and officially opened by the Prime Minister the Rt Hon Helen Clark in December 2004, The Shire’s Rest has three entertainment rooms, quality hobbit styled rest room amenities, catering and full bar facilities as we are fully licensed.
We have set menus but we can also design menus to suit your specific needs, whether it is ’finger food’ or sit down meals with several courses. We have various room sizes, and we can cater for groups of any size. To view our menus and read more, please click here.
